Although the Thai and Southeast Asian Studies program is primarily an academic program, students should be prepared for challenging individual and group activities outside the classroom. Field trips and 2 short-term village homestays provide an enriching setting in which students get to know people from many different walks of life in Thailand. The program schedules some weekend activities but provides plenty of free time to meet Thai students at Payap and make new friends in Chiang Mai.
